Software / Simulator for Distributed Recommender Systems in Peer-to-Peer Environments (SWARMIX)

Swarmix is a simulation framework for evaluation of recommender systems in peer-to-peer scenarios. Especially, it implements the Swarmix distributed architecture that consists of two components:

  1. a preprocessing component that computes user profiles based on the user ratings as well as on semantic background knowledge in the form of a tree-like taxonomy. And
  2. a simulation component that executes the Swarmix epidemic protocol and computes the recommendations for each of the peers.
Swarmix extends the core functionality provided by the peersim peer-to-peer simulator and is implemented in Java.
